WX BRANDS
Sir Real Wine Label
I designed a series of four graphics used for marketing collateral.
OVERVIEW
The Sir Real wine label design project marked the first label created for the rebranding of Chronic Cellars. This label retains the classic block printing art style characteristic of previous designs but introduces updated colors, fonts, and a refined visual hierarchy.
ROLE/SCOPE
I assisted in creating this wine label during a Graphic Design and Marketing Internship at WX Brands in the summer of 2019.
Sir Real was the first label to be created in the rebrand of Chronic Cellars. Chronic Cellars labels are created by artists in San Los Obispo with block printing black ink onto paper. The art is then scanned and digitized to play around with colors and fine tune the graphic. The goal of the rebrand of Chronic Cellars was to keep the skull and skeleton motifs, while making the labels slightly more sophisticated.
I used photoshop to fine tune the printed graphic. I did this by adding and subtracting ink marks, stretching parts of the shield, and testing different color pallets and color placements. During meetings I shared my work with the team and gave input while choosing font combinations and deciding hierarchy.
LEARNINGS
I discovered how digital art can be transformed into three-dimensional objects and enhanced my Photoshop skills by learning to replicate the look and feel of physical art.
